Imbat Precision Air Conditioning Units Selected for TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Data Center
TÜBİTAK National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBİM) has selected Imbat for the climate control solutions of the ULAKBİM Data Center’s Direct Liquid-Cooled (DLC) Server Room, which features one of the most advanced liquid cooling technologies in the world.
Designed to deliver a stable operating environment under critical conditions that require precise control, the center stands out with its high-performance processing power and robust data storage infrastructure. The facility houses the ARF supercomputer, with a capacity of 504 servers and 56,000 cores. Serving industry, public institutions, and universities, ARF supports research and projects in priority areas such as climate change, earthquake studies, and bioinformatics, as well as mathematics, physics, chemistry, molecular biology, and materials science. With its extensive service network, the center is actively utilized by a wide range of sectors.
The ARF supercomputer ranks 356th on the Top500 list of the world’s most powerful computers, while its second phase, the GPU-supported computing cluster ARF ACC, ranks 229th. ARF ACC has also achieved a significant milestone by ranking 26th on the Green500 list, which focuses on energy efficiency.
Imbat was chosen as the climate control solution for this critical project. A total of three In-Room, chilled-water (CRAH) Imbat Precision Air Conditioning Units, with a combined cooling capacity of 190 kW, are used to maintain the data center environment. Designed to deliver the required temperature and relative humidity within tight tolerances, the units preserve the critical balance of this sensitive environment through Imbat’s energy-efficient solutions and advanced software.
Imbat’s precision air conditioning units were equipped to meet the high-performance demands of the TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM Data Center. Featuring EC fan technology, each unit provides an airflow of up to 19,000 m³/h, ensuring high-efficiency cooling. With Modbus IP integration, the systems enable remote monitoring and control, allowing real-time tracking and intervention when necessary. The double-skin galvanized steel casing and 70 kg/m³ rock wool insulation provide superior thermal and acoustic insulation.
Thanks to Imbat’s microprocessor-based control system, the data center’s temperature and humidity balance is managed with high precision. Real-time data can be easily monitored via the graphical display, while additional equipment such as humidifiers and electric heaters helps maintain ideal room conditions throughout the year. This ensures that the data center continues to operate under optimal conditions in all seasons and meets its critical climate control requirements.
